Opening a New Path to Recognise Academic Excellence
Individual applications are now open for eligible Class X and Class XII students who secured 85% or above in the 2026 Board Examinations.
The UNESCO Club of Education Charter, collaborating in Education Excellence Conclave 2026, welcomes the opening of Individual Student Applications for Academic Excellence Recognition — an initiative intended to provide deserving young achievers with another pathway to be considered for recognition.
Students who passed the Class X or Class XII Board Examination in 2026 with 85% or above may now apply directly, including students whose schools have not submitted an institutional nomination.
Recognition Can Become a Source of Inspiration
Education is not merely a process of acquiring marks. It is a journey through which young people learn discipline, responsibility, perseverance, confidence and the ability to contribute meaningfully to society.
At the same time, academic achievement deserves to be acknowledged. Behind a strong examination result are often years of study, sustained effort, the guidance of teachers and the encouragement and sacrifices of families.
Recognition at the right stage of a young person’s life can therefore serve a purpose greater than celebration alone. It can encourage the student to pursue higher standards and can inspire other young learners to believe that sincere effort matters.
Recognition can turn achievement into inspiration.”
Why Individual Applications?
The Conclave’s initial student recognition process has involved participating schools identifying and nominating eligible students. School nominations continue to remain an important route of participation.
However, educational opportunity should also recognise that not every deserving student will necessarily be reached through an institutional nomination process.
A student’s school may not be participating in the Conclave, the institution may not have completed its nomination process, or a student or parent may simply have discovered the initiative independently.
The introduction of the Individual Student Application route therefore gives eligible students an additional opportunity to submit their academic achievement directly for consideration.
Direct applications do not replace school nominations. Both routes operate alongside each other, and a student applying independently will not be placed in a lower category of recognition solely because the application did not originate from the school.
Who Is Eligible to Apply?
- Students who passed the Class X or Class XII Board Examination in 2026.
- Students who secured 85% or above in aggregate / overall result according to the applicable Board’s assessment rules.
- Students from CBSE, CISCE/ICSE/ISC, recognised State Boards and other recognised Indian school education boards, subject to verification.
- Applicants must provide a clear copy of the official marksheet or Board result document for academic verification.
- Students may apply through school nomination or through the Individual Student Application route.
Beyond Marks: The Larger Educational Message
The theme of Education Excellence Conclave 2026 — “Beyond Marks: Celebrating Excellence, Leadership & Character” — reflects an important educational principle.
Academic performance is significant, but education cannot be measured through examination scores alone.
A meaningful educational journey should also develop the learner’s character, confidence, ethical responsibility, creativity, leadership capacity and willingness to continue learning throughout life.
The recognition of high academic achievement at the Conclave should therefore be understood not as the end of a student’s journey, but as encouragement to move towards a broader idea of excellence.
Recognition for Confirmed Student Achievers
Students whose applications are verified, selected and officially confirmed will be invited for ceremonial recognition at Education Excellence Conclave 2026.
Recognition Without a Participation Fee
No application fee, registration fee or participation fee is being charged to students applying for Academic Excellence Recognition.
The purpose of the initiative is to recognise verified achievement. Recognition is therefore not being offered for purchase. Applicants must meet the prescribed eligibility requirements and successfully complete the verification and confirmation process.
Important: Eligibility Does Not Guarantee Selection
Securing 85% or above makes a student eligible to apply. It does not automatically guarantee selection, participation or felicitation at Education Excellence Conclave 2026.
Every application is subject to scrutiny, verification, availability and official confirmation by the Education Excellence Conclave 2026 Organising Committee.
Only applicants who receive official confirmation from the Organising Committee will be considered confirmed participants for felicitation.
The Organising Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any application at its discretion without being required to assign or communicate any reason. Its decision regarding selection and participation shall be final.
Recognising the Educational Ecosystem
Student achievement rarely develops in isolation.
Behind a young achiever are often teachers who guided, parents who encouraged, institutions that created learning opportunities and communities that helped nurture aspiration.
Education Excellence Conclave 2026 therefore seeks to recognise not only student achievement but also the wider educational ecosystem that helps young people progress.
The platform brings together students, parents, educators, institutional leaders and other education stakeholders around a shared commitment to educational excellence.
